Caden was doing his part to help get Ellie ready to go in her car seat.

Sharon didn't need the wheelchair, but that's just how it's done, so I told her to enjoy it. Sharon is so petite that there was room for two in the wheelchair!

 Caden thought it was awesome to go for a ride too! 

Our Little Valentine

This was our best Valentine's Day ever!  This little sweetheart, Ellie Nicole Mann, came into the world early this morning, and as you can see, she is beautiful!  It was definitely love at first sight!

Here's her happy and excited mother waiting for her arrival.  This picture was probably taken around 10 p.m. (before Ellie's arrival which was at 12:50 a.m.)  Sharon called us around 9 p.m. and told us that she was in labor.

Since I was invited to come to the hospital, I left immediately, and Sharon was hooked up to this monitor.  The red lines were the baby's heart rate, and the blue lines show the contractions.  Since the baby was in a breech position, two doctors  had to do some heavy-duty pushing on Sharon's tummy to turn the baby.  Ellie cooperated, and a C-section was avoided!  Hooray!

She's handed to Mommy for the first time, and her parents marvel at this new little life.

It was a lot of work to be born, but she opened her eyes so she could see her new world.

She's blessed to have a beautiful, loving mother who will take good care of her.

Here's the wonderful team that made sure Ellie made it into the world safe and sound and also took excellent care of her mother.  Sharon delivered Ellie at the same hospital where she works as an RN in the Intensive Care Unit.

Ellie is Nancy's 11th grandchild, and her 12th should arrive next month!  We agree with what she wrote on facebook:  "Life doesn't get much better than welcoming another grandchild into the world."

Time for a Shower!

Sharon's having a girl!  To help her get ready for the little one, a baby shower was thrown in her honor.

Caden got to play with his cousins during the shower, but he also wanted to help Mom tear into a few of the gifts.

This blanket is soooo soft!

Sharon doesn't approve of the crocheted baby dress she was blessed in since it wasn't white.  I made sure that her baby will have a white one.  (I still have the crocheted dress, Sharon, in case you're interested.)

Everyone loves a baby shower!

Sharon's sister-in-law, Ashley, threw the shower for Sharon.  She's expecting a baby girl that should arrive a few days after Sharon's!

Ashley was a wonderful hostess and did a great job with the decorating and providing yummy refreshments!

Caden thinks he'd like to help himself to this big piece of red velvet cake that was set aside for Brandon.

He's sure Daddy wouldn't mind.

Sharon is here with Tahnee, Brandon's twin's wife.  She just had a baby boy in November (on Thanksgiving!). There will be plenty of cousins for Sharon's little girl to play with!

The "usual suspects" (Dan's family, Matt and Vicki, and Sharon, Brandon and Caden) gathered at our house to celebrate Grandma's 92 birthday.  Wow...92 years old!

Caden's probably thinking that the card is nice, but what about the presents?
